Hello! I'm Norma Garcia and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I became a counselor because I realized that The Lord gave me a love to help others. I truly enjoy being able to help my clients consider new perspectives and discover a new sense of self. I specialize in working with children and adults. I am trauma-focused and consider that trauma is a major factor for many symptoms that hinder a healthy mindset. I use education and a collaborative approach to motivate change of maladaptive patterns of behavior, and a negative self-belief system. I also incorporate play with children as they discover to regulate their emotions and embrace their individualism. I believe in meeting each client where they are emotionally, and with the necessary tools, clients will discover their path to healing and acceptance. This journey is about growth, hope, and knowing that The Lord has given us a spirit of courage. First and foremost, I am a child of God. I feel as if my purpose in life is to make Him and His Love known to others. It was through various life circumstances and a calling from the Lord that I began to pursue counseling in 2019. I have a passion for working with children and adolescents as well as individuals. I enjoy incorporating play into the therapeutic process and truly entering a child's world through play. I value the importance of allowing others to feel seen and heard. I believe that the Lord is always doing a new thing within us and often times it may feel as if you are walking in the wilderness, but He is making a way for healing. I feel so honored that the Lord has called me to walk alongside others on their therapeutic journey, and I would love to partner with you on your journey.
